Ransom's crawling has gone through some major changes. He started out with an inch worm belly scoot and that morphed into more of an army crawl, then he went into a short stage of sitting up and using his legs to scoot himself around. He is now getting on all fours and is doing what looks mostly like a traditional crawl, but it has a special spin that you would have to see to really understand. Walking seems to be his main focus though. He wants us to hold on to his little fingers and help him walk almost all day long. Redirecting his attention only works on occasion. He can walk while holding on with only one hand and will probably be making attempts to let go altogether very soon. He pulls up on everything, and this has become a problem while attempting to give him a bath. We are working on teaching him that he must sit in the bath tub, but it is a very frustrating lesson to be learned.
In other news, Ransom is clapping and waving. He says "bye-bye", "look", "mama", and "duck". He also makes a panting noise if you ask him what a dog says. It is pretty cute. We are pretty sure he is going to be a very verbal child, because he does not seem to have a problem filling any amount of silence. He is always smiling and makes friends wherever he goes. His personality is really coming to life, and we are having a blast getting to know what makes him the special little guy that he is.
Ransom is 10 months old today. WOW! I can't believe it. We will be planning a first birthday part very soon.
